Firstly thank you to Tradescanners for all your help. Sales staff spoke to me on two occassions about this scanner. I received it the next day so an excellent service. The most striking thing is its size. Very compact and neat. It has a reasonable quality of feel to it. Like all these things the plastic wings that fold out look a bit flimsy but they fold away so neatly and it takes up such a small space on the desk that this is forgiven. With the s1500M for the mac you get Adobe Acrobat 8 which is a little annoying as you get the latest version 9 with the PC version. The software loaded up without any problems and I was up and running within 10 minutes. Its amazingly fast. Then on the sotware I saw that there was software for Windows, so I thought I'd try it and it works on my PC and the Mac. That's a bonus. Note though that Adobe is only for the Mac. Thank you. Would recommend it. I use it just at home so not sure about the duty cycle.

Best scanner I ever purchased.Very easy to use and has excellent features such as scanning to document,e-mail etc which appears as an option after the document has been scanned.Another VERYuseful feature is that it can scan small receipts etc with the help of plastic folder provided.The above combined with EXCELLENT extended warranty and service from trade scanners would deserve 5 STAR rattings

Intelligent Paper Feed Detection
ScanSnap S1500M is now equipped with an ultrasonic multi-feed detection sensor that can be turned on to help operators avoid losing images. What's more, an interactive interface allows users to easily and quickly bypass intentional double-feeds such as a taped-receipt on an expense report.
